Send keystrokes to live from external patcher

Hiya!

looking to see if there's a way i can send keystrokes from an external patcher through to live, as far as i've seen, there's no way to send a Right Arrow key press through to ableton's piano roll view while im clicked out of ableton, and using an external max for live patcher.

Any help would be appreciated!

In more detail: im looking for a way of hitting the right arrow when using an external m4l patcher and still being able to record the held midi on my Launchpad. this is a normal ableton feature from inside the piano roll, but i still want it to be achievable even when clicked out of ableton. Any suggestions?

In all operating systems, keystrokes are routed only to
application in foreground, and that's just right so.
You need to find other means of communication between different
apps, being midi, osc or whatever else.

Shame, even still, is it possible to either detect the key in the patcher and broadcast it to ableton? Or better yet, simulate the function of hitting the right arrow key in the piano roll to record midi? Either solution will work great.

key and keyup object can detect keystrokes.
On MacOS also hi object.
But than You need to send whatever live understands to execute that command You are after.
