Serial Port doesn't see ENTTEC DMXUSB Pro (Catalina)
Greetings forum. I have a patch that sends DMX via the ENTTEC DMXUSB Pro using the serial object. For some reason my Macbook Pro running Catalina doesn't see the ENTTEC when I ask it to report devices using the "print" message. Other macs in my lab with older operating systems do report the ENTTEC and the patch works fine on them. The Catalina computer does see the ENTTEC box in the System Report and we're able to send DMX to it using ENTTEC's PRO Manager test application, it's just Max that's not able to connect to the ENTTEC. The Catalina machine is running Max 8.1.1. Any idea what might be going on here? Thanks!
I know people were having trouble with Arduino serial comms with Catalina but the 10.15.2 update supposedly fixed it, have you done that? I have not upgraded yet so can't test for you. Have you got an Arduino or something you could test?
On Mojave and my Enttec isn't showing up either, tried it on a different computer and shows up fine in the serial port list. Tried everything, even a clean install didn't work.
Found the fix for me at least, if I keep the Enttec plugged in and reboot the machine it then works. Apple is stupid.
Thanks Aaron! We'll try this solution...
