Rename clips to locator name

Hello all!

I get a lot of Ableton projects in arrangement view that I need to convert to session view files. In these projects the locators are already set and named.
What I'm trying to do in max is to automatically rename the clips (in all or in a single track: doesn't matter much!) to the locator names.
Like the screenshot below.

I already found out a way to print the locator names, and also know how to rename clips in session view. But can't seem to combine this to a working device.

Thank you guys so much for your time and help :)

Clips in Arrangement aren't available to the LOM, you'll not be able to achieve this currently...

Have been looking to do this same thing as the OP! Any luck or anyone that has any ideas?

Would love to automatically separate the clip at each Locator and rename each section to that Locator's name.

And clips name to locators name.

It seems possible in Live 12 but I can't find the trick.

Any help ?

At this point it is possible to get/set/observe the name of cue_points. And It is also possible make new clips in the Arrangement (see create_midi_clip and create_audio_clip in the LOM Track object) and set the clip names.

Splitting a clip would be trickier I think, and may not be possible without risk. The current functions looks like they can duplicate a clip to a time point, but they don't let you specify the length when you insert them into the arranger. So I think you could end up duplicating a clip to the "slice" point, that is then so long that it overwrites later clips.

Hi Tyler, thx for the quick answer.

I know how to create midi clip in the track of the plugin but I can't figure out how to name it as soon it is created...

If you have some tips.
