Syphon Recorder equivalent on Windows or other tricks?
Curious what people are using to replace Syphon Recorder when capturing on Windows?
I've been using jit.gl.asyncread + jit.record for screen shots to get format control and I know I can do screenshots / screen recorders / etc. But is there a Spigot equivalent so I can pass the texture on the GPU and get more control over codec/format output?
Totally open to passing texture over Spigot to other software / languages / frameworks if it has robust options.
I'm guessing you mean Spout, the Windows equivalent to Syphon.
I guess you could use Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), which is free, and have Spout Cam as the recording input.
Totally meant Spout, yes.
Good idea. I tried this a year or two ago with OBS and remember I had a lot of crashes and weirdness which I think was related to the Windows, OBS, and Max having trouble with the fact that there was an integrated graphics chip on the CPU and an dedicated graphics card on the same machine. Running on a desktop now that doesn't have that issue so maybe it shouldn't be a problem.
Thanks!
