If you use Cubase or Nuendo, you must have an audio player file for your device with a .txt or .xml extension. These files are usually available online or from people who already use that device. You can go here: http://www.rivetedstudios.com/cubase-downloads.html or: http://www.heikoplate.de/mambo/index.php?option=com_content&;task=blogcategory&id=87&Itemid=74 .
For example, you can use the Keyboard PSR S900. After downloading and installing the driver for the S900 here: http://www.global.yamaha.com/download/usb_midi/ then find the sound management file of the Yamaha PSR-S900.txt and download it. calculated. Next go to Start - Programs - Steinberg Nuendo 3 - Open Nuendo Application Data Folder. Then open the Scripts folder to find the Patchnames folder and copy the Yamaha PSR-S900.txt file into that folder (if this directory does not exist, create it.) The exact path is C: \ Documents and Settings. Settings \ username \ Application Data \ Steinberg \ Nuendo 3 \ Scripts \ Patchnames
Next you go to Device - MIDI Device Manager. Then click Install Device to install the Yamaha PSR-S900. You select the S900 in the panel that appears and click OK twice. Look for the Output cell in the middle of the screen and select YAMAHA MIDI Output (this may differ).

If the file is in XML then you will go to Device - MIDI Device Manager and select Import Setup and find the XML file and enter it. Next do the same as above.

On Sonar you must have the S900 language file extension ".ins". Go to Option - Instruments in the Assign Instruments panel and select Define ... and click Import and navigate to the INS file and click Open. Then darken the 16 channels on the left of the Output / Channel and hit the S900 in the Uses Instrument on the right and click OK.

Note that if you have a simple MIDI controller, you only have one MIDI OUT port.
a) If you want the sound to emit on a keyboard, set the output path of the MIDI. "Output Driver" usually has the word "MIDI OUT", "MPU-401" or "EXTERNAL MIDI" in the MIDI settings. This port usually varies depending on the sound card. An example on a Sound Blaster card is usually called "SB MIDI OUT".

b) If you want the computer to receive the MIDI signal you typed on the keyboard, set the input to the MIDI settings of the "Input Driver" software that usually has "MIDI IN", "MPU-401" or "EXTERNAL MIDI". " Unfortunately, this port usually varies depending on the sound card. An example on a Sound Blaster card is usually called "SB MIDI IN".

here too, this happens to me occasionally. And i have no idea why. How I solve this problem:

Quit Max.
Open Max again.
Open a new patcher.
Create a makenote object.
Open the makenote help file.
Play on the kslider.

Then it should work again, you can close the new created patches now.

Your problem may differ from mine, because i can see all the possible devices, when double-clicking on the noteout object, but i can’t hear anything.

Well, I tried it but it still does not work, no piano sound and no double click response, so it is different then your situation probably, thank you(!) but I am still pearlized and need someone's help there

Probably this is not the solution but you can try with this free application that manage your General midi sound.
