Toggle Hint?

Hello Forum,

Is there some sort of global control I can use to toggle whether an object shows it's hint or not?

Well, there's this...

Mike S, if it's global, don't you mean all objects or all instances of one type of object?

Either way, I'm confused.. There is hint object that serves as an overlay to make hints visible.. but the same can be achieved with no additional object? Why bother with the hint object?

Thanks guys, my problem is that I have a huge interface with potentially lots of hints. I don't really want to have to fiddle about with messages and would rather have a kind of on/off control for all hints, or even something where I could set the delay time to be a tad longer than it currently is.

Mike, Did you find already a solution to globally disable/enable the Hints/Tooltips? if so, please let me know…

I'm in the progress of building an Yamaha VL70m synth editor (virtual acoustic modelling) and this tool contains many hints helping a novice user to get familiar with many capabilities of the editor. But once the user knows the tool the hints become disturbing.

Hi
Another way to approach it would be to use Annotations (Instead of Hints) and then use the Clue window which can be shown/hidden quite easily . . .

Bumping this ancient thread with the same question. Any solutions to this?
