i just found another topic on this but concerning Max 5 and 6 not 7 and both running on OS X 10.7, so I just thought I'd create a new one.

When I open Max recently it started to blow off my laptop's fans and my activity monitor tells me Max is hogging about 100-110% of CPU. It does that even with no patch opened.

Just now I got this message in the Max window:

sqlite_exec: 1 (near "z>": syntax error)

sqlite_exec_query: UPDATE _things SET _status = 'orphan' WHERE _path = "/Volumes/>񿘾񿀾    "z>/"; DELETE FROM _paths WHERE _fullpath = "/Volumes/>񿘾񿀾    "z>/";

My laptop is getting darnedly hot... hope you can help me with this...
