Does anyone know how i would get a list of vertex locations from an .stl file, in the same patch with a 3D viewer?

I've tried to put it together myself but for some reason i can't use the view box any more?? might have some wrong elements somewhere here is what I've got so far.

Help would be much appriciated I need this for an element of an art project and would credit anyones help. :)
