Hey Thom hows it going, Thanks for offering to help out, heres my problem.

Overview: Im running ableton live and looking to create a max patch that acts as a MIDI effect to create duplicate note values.

Example: When I input a fixed MIDI note (e.g C1) I want the patch to play back the original MIDI note (C1) and add and additional value to create a chord (e.g C1 + Csharp1)

Each time I input a value on C1 I want the additional note to raise in value by increment until it reaches a specific point (e.g E1). After this point the value will return again to its base value.

Actually, I think the task is subtly more difficult than is implied by either of the previous responses, because neither takes into account that each note-on message is (must be) followed by a corresponding note-off message (or note-on with velocity of 0). So, you have to treat note-ons and note-offs differently. For the note-offs, you don't want to increment the count (the interval size) and you need to know (save and look up) the transposition of the transposed note that needs to be turned off.
