Max on Raspberry Pi 2?
Any thoughts on running Max on Windows 10 IoT on the new Rasp 2?

well, we'll have to wait and see. Raspi 2 is based on ARM architecture. Even if it will run windows that does not necessarily mean that Max will run. Probably it will require a special build from the source...
looking forward for that! In my case, it would be really cool to work with rasp pi (with max patches) and arduino (maxuino and firmata).

@ Wetterberg: Well, so far I haven't found any issues with maxuino. And it is working well with step motors, which is a important feature in my case. But I would like to know some other solution. I've read about arduivis, but I haven't tried yet.

Arduivis is *sooo* much cooler, definitely do give it a try at your leisure.
it'd be neat to start "small" with a program tailored to communicate with the gpio and other consistent i/o, fixed specifications, on the raspberry pi and communicate back with max proper as if it was part of it. like a physical sub patch/external.
i mean, i wouldn't want to try to use jitter as is, but something that would work within the confines of the pi's feature set. more like a video game console mentality, i guess, where you can't upgrade the core components so you have to come up with novel ways of pulling things off.
so maybe something that looks like gen apis/library/framework whatever you want to call it? dunno.
i've been using sunvox's gpio modules on the pi + communicating with max and it's good fun.
That would certainly be great, to have Max running on an inexpensive standalone divice like a raspberry Pi. You could combine it with micro processors like Arduino analog stuff and build standalone Synthesizers, midi devices, ...
Please, Cycling! Tell us, wether you are looking into that possibility.

Guys, forget the Raspberry Pi. I saw a real live iPad Pro yesterday - it's HUGE!!! So I'm now I'm drooling over the thought of Max on one of them… (sigh) Leaning back on the couch, listening to Tales from Topographic Oceans or The Raven that Refused to Sing or something on its (apparently excellent) stereo speakers and programming Max on a huge multitouch screen… Mmmmmmmmm…….. =:-}

Not clear, so, Max doesn't run on Raspberry Pi!? Is there somebody who has test this?

mmmh and windows 10 is free now right ? not free as in free speech of course but as in free beer ? which makes this thing very very very interesting for max users who would like to put one foot in card-sized computers but aren't courageous enough to dive into linux and pd

Well.. it's free for device manufacturers to preinstall (which certainly makes Lattepanda an interesting option). I'm not aware of any free copies of Windows 10 for someone who doesn't have 7 or 8 or who doesn't purchase a Windows device.
Regarding Raspberry Pi.. the issue is with Windows IoT - "Windows 10 for Makers".. except it is isn't really Windows 10, nor is it for makers, according to Hackaday. Lack of drivers, no digital audio, no hardware UART. They suggested that Windows IoT was actually designed for companies who need to develop an alternative to XP on ATM's and point-of-sale terminals. So aside from 1 billion burgers by 2017, they plan to bring maker-art to every convenience store and retail shop in America. The future is here people.. and it's name is Microsoft.

Old post, i know, but here we go:
A small month ago i have received the Lattepanda, installed all and it's running nice!
Because i have pre-ordered, i have Windows 10 for free with the Lattepanda.
Best of all; Max 7 runs smooth on it! :) But i will start a new post about this adventure.
Looking forward to hear from that. I am very interested on running max7 on this Lattepanda in order to deal with sensors and actuators thru its arduino board.
