is there a problem with the C74 site search engine?
dear all,
since a couple of days i cant do any searches (forum archives) in the c74 website.
anybody know if theres a problem with the sites search engine. would appreciate any info.
my operating system is osx 10.9.1 and seems to be working
quite well, i dont know if there is a safari related bug or something.
thx to all, cheers!
Same here…
Anyway, this search engine is a good way to be frustrated (maybe c74 is finally updating it)
You can search with google on the site, like this:site:cycling74.com/forums search engine
:)
Disappointment and frustration are a measure of expectation. I have learned to lower my expectations when it comes to Cycling 74's investment in an online community. For whatever reason, it doesn't appear to be a priority. There is still no way for members to contact each other privately, a search function that borders on useless (even when it is working) and pages that are very slow to load.

thx guys for your help, much appreciated!
havent done any extensive testing or anything but it seems to
be working much better with > site:cycling74.com.
...i'm frustrated too, but i believe c74 will take care of things soon,
untill then we're going to have to hang in there, :)
to be fair, improvements must be noted on the front of pages loading speed recently

That has only been intermittent (for me). But I will add that I did notice improvements to the message interface - specifically with pasting code and using html.
I've been having the same problem.
Thanks, Patrick, for the tip.

Thanks for the search problem report. We're looking into it.

Sorry for any inconvenience. It should be working now.

thx lili & staff, it's better than ever,
matching web results to images + sub-catagories, good deal.
cheers!
Why isn't there a search box in this new floating search results window? Worse than that, why when I return to my search box entry (left visible behind the floating window) does it suddenly disappear, requiring me to reenter everything rather than edit key words.
Hi everyone,
Thanks for the feedback. We've updated the search function again so it now forwards you to a new page that shows the results. This also keeps your search term in the box, so you don't need to start from scratch to refine your searches.
On the top right corner as well are options to sort by relevance or date, as well as a permalink for the search results. This allows you to then copy and paste this link for sharing.
Ginger, you rock.
:)
Also—we're constantly looking at our options when it comes to different features. Some are more difficult to implement than others, but we're looking into it, I promise!
the forum used t be so much better with the old search engine....
like this it's almost not usable...

Hi Ginger, not a big issue but just want to let you know that this isn't the case in the current version of Firefox.
Cheers

Hi Paul,
Can you let me know what happens on your end? To clarify, I meant "new page" as in a different page, but the same tab (it used to be a pop-up modal). I wonder if you had expected it to open in a new tab/window?
Frank, maybe you can be more specific about how the search can be more usable? Are there any specific use-cases you can mention?
