I'm trying to set up a sistem that can somehow constantly analyze what comes into my computer mic, and in order to do that, i've been trying using the record~/buffer~/groove~/play~ chain in different settings but nothing good comes out.

I think it is a problem concerning the speed at which the buffer refreshes but i'm not sure, because even changing it, nothing really happens.

the audio feedback [play~/groove~] it's actually not necessary, because i'm going to evaluate other parameters of the sound in order to create a new composition (it's kinda gonna be something like a feedback based, algorhythmic composition) and i'm using it right now just as a monitoring system that allows me to understand if the incoming source is clean enough.

In details, if i use groove~ i actually get to hear what comes into the mic, but as soon as something long and tonal starts playing (eg. a whistle) you get sound+glitch

if i use play~ i just get a massive amount of low pitched glitches and brown noise.

I thought it was possible to skip the buffer~ object, to have a direct stream mic->speakers but it doesn't seem to work either.

I know it's something really easy and when you'll give the solution i'll go like YEAH THAT! SURE! but atm i can't figure anything out.
