I am trying to do something very simple with a MiDI sequence: send a bang with each noteon message, but not with noteoff messages. This should require only two objects: counter 2 1 2, and select 1. When I send bangs to my counter manually or with a metronome, the select object does what I want, sending a bang for every 1. But when I send bangs from any MIDI object -- seq, makenote, midiparse, flush -- the select 1 object is sending a bang for both 1 and 2. How to fix?

Your patch isn't doing what you say it's doing when I run it. Works fine.

Also, please use copy compressed from the edit menu so your code doesn't clutter the thread.

Oh, missed the part where you talked about doing things that aren't in the patch you shared. ;-)

You need to only connect the velocity output of any MIDI note object to the input of [counter].

Or you could just use a [stripnote] object then turn either the pitches or the velocities into bangs.

My "select" object is not being very selective.
