I have a bit of clunky code here for making entries into a dictionary, I'm thinking there must be a more elegant way of achieving the same. Im only getting to grips with dict and sprintf so any pointers would be a great help here!

haha. i was just wondering if it was a little convoluted by having three sections instead of one. but hey, if it's good I'm happy with that!

:)))))))))))) no its totally fine . u can of course substitute all your keys (seq , vel , steps) as u did with the sections A , B ,C , for dynamic formating.

ah i see what you mean with that do...while. was trying something in that vein out but couldn't get it. thanks!

I'd rather do something like this. sprintf/combine needs to be used only for string manipulation. There's no need to transform a list into symbol to do the inverse afterward.

thats why ive moved out from targeting dict directly through patching , sprintf was the most readable solution anyway. this is too crazy for such trivial task in my opinion :) thats why people are afraid of using it .

The most pleasure from using Dict i can get through JS or C but not patching solutions , especially where complex manipulations are in need .
