I've been dipping my toes into a project involving [gen~] and I fear I may have gotten in over my head. I'm using [gen~]'s sample counter to measure the sub-20ms delays between peaks on two channels of audio (i.e. a drum overhead vs a snare microphone). but I'm running into some issues with the implementation. Ideally, the first channel peak (a bang sent when the input signal crosses a threshold) would start the timer, and the second would stop it, much like Max's [timer] object. When i was still working with [timer] before switching to [gen~], i had sent the peak bangs from each channel to both of [timer's] inlets, where timer would essentially ignore the first bang sent to the right inlet since the timer hadn't been started yet.

[gen~]'s given me the resolution that I need, but I haven't found a way to reliably start the timer with my first peak (from whichever channel peaks first) and end it with the second when the peaks are arriving in such rapid succession (i was trying to use the non-gen [counter] to ignore the first bang sent to my stop message to no avail). Not sure if anyone has tried to tackle something in a similar vein, but thought I'd put the feelers out. I've attached a rough patch of what I've been working with.
