trouble finding subpatcher for poly~ or pfft~ - Max search path problem

Hey,

I'm trying to use poly~ and pfft~ objects. I've tried saving my subpatches in a number of different locations and with a number of different names, and Max always churns out the "no patcher __________" error message. In all of my attempts both patches have been saved in the same folder, like everyone says you need to do. I don't know where I'm going wrong.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Rahm

It's kind of obvious but since you didn't mention doing so: Did you try setting the search path in the File Preferences?

Yeah, should have said that. I keep all things Max related within my Ableton folder by default. Appreciate the stab though.

No one's run into this problem?

was this issue ever resolved or expounded upon in another ticket? thanks

Also still running into this issue. All my patchers are in the same directory, and I've even gone as far as explicitly selecting my subpatcher from the poly~ inspector. Still getting "no patcher [mySubpatch]"

Fixed, turns out that .amxd files CANNOT be selected as sub patches. You need to use a .maxpat file. Haven't seen this explained anywhere else, I just stumbled on it through trial and error.

yes yes yes here we are, 7 years later. still living.

i discovered the same solution years ago, and had totally forgotten about this thread by that point. but yes .MAXPAT is the way for poly~ and bpatcher and anything with a subpatcher.

go world.

wooooot.
