Turning off ezdac~
Hello everyone,
So I have an FCB1010 MIDI Foot Controller. Essentially, I am making 9 subpatches and am using program messages (foot buttons 1-9) to control which patches I enter and exit. For example, when I press the button 1, we enter subpatch 1 and activate the VST/effects, when I press 2, it turns fades out 1 and we have entered new territory.
The problem I'm having right now is that I can't figure out how to make this as efficient as possible. I am using VST's as well as amxd~ effects. I realize that amxd~ is specifically for Ableton Live, but I would like to find a way to use these effects regardless. To counter all of this, I'm essentially placing an ezdac~ into each of the 9 subpatches that gets turned on and off whenever a program message is sent. The problem I'm having is that I can't actually turn off any of the ezdac(s)~ properly.
I've been rereading the help file over and over again. Essentially, a 'start' message starts regular DSP, a 'stop' message stops regular DSP. It doesn't sound like I want either. A 'startwindow' and a 'local $1" are the same message and both start DSP IN THE LOCAL SUBPATCH (from what I gather). The problem is that I then can't turn off the DSP or switch to a different subpatch. It's a confusing problem. If anybody has a great solution to fix these issues I am encountering, that would be most appreciated.
Thanks everyone!
