Two computer running Max sync

I reached a CPU load which is too high with my patch. I thought it would be nice if one could run two computers.
I came across this as a software available from VSL called vienna ensemble pro

Would this be possible for Max? Or can we already do it?

Do you have two audio interfaces and some spare I/O? If so, you could consider splitting your patch in two.

I've synchronised two different laptops with a master [phasor~] clock sent via SP/DIF. Very stable. I compensated the latency by delaying each audio output on the master.

I see what you mean. I have only one interface for the moment.

I thought OSC via ethernet would be nice.

I think that's do-able with udpsend and udpreceive - you might try asking one of the guys in this post:

On Mac you could use AUNetSend/AUNetReceive for sending audio between different computers.

and if midiclock sync is all you need, and you are using a mac, you can send/receive the clock over wifi. go to utilities > audio midi setup (choose "show midi window" from the window menu if its not already visible) then "network". after you test and compensate for latency, it is fairly stable.

I just noticed that I have a second interface. I have a MOTU Pre8 which I can use for I/O. I will port all midi to the second patch.Well, let's see how it goes.
Thank you all for your input, it helped!
Cheers
