Umenu dropping list items

SO I am attempting to edit one of June74's V-Module devices - to populate a umenu item from a different folder location.
There is a yellow message item I have updated to my new folder name (this folder sits in the same folder as the original folder referenced in the original device).
I have then gone into the umenu item and chosen another folder. Checking autopopulate then fills in all the menu items.
When I close the inspector i can see the correct filename appeaing as the first item in the umenu.
But when i save and close the device and go back to my Live window the umenu has not items!
What am i missing?
