Unable To Open Max References (and occasionally sub patchers)
Hello!
Windows 11
Max 8.6
I noticed this thing happening (I think since I installed the new update) where occasionally I would go to open a sub patcher and it wouldn't pop up. When hovering over the icon on my Windows taskbar it would show that there is a window open but when clicking on it nothing would happen. Today I noticed that the same thing happened trying to open the references. I have tried restarting max as well as my computer and the reference still don't seem to open. I did get this error message in the console:
node.script: Trying to set the process_id for a child process, but it already has one
typedmess: script: corrupt object
reg_object_new: no mobex for u994000334
zgetfn (postreference): corrupt object
doesn't understand "script"
Any insight from anybody? I will probably be reinstalling max, perhaps something is corrupt.
Cheers!
I just started seeing this too today. I'm on a brand new M3 , fresh install of 8.6. Strange. Doesn't seem to cause issues but I did report node issues with 8.57. wonder if it's related??
Experiencing the exact same thing. Will this be fixed soon? Did reinstalling fix it, or do I need to downgrade to an earlier version of Max?
Could it be that the windows are out of visible screen space? I see this often on Windows(OS) when opening other peoples patches. Using Windows you need to click on "move" in the context menu of the window in the taskbar and then press one of the direction keys on the keyboard, then move the mouse.
But this is probably some other problem because I don't see node.script errors when it happens.
I just updated max 8 to 9 and I'm seeing the same message "node.script: Trying to set the process_id for a child process" in the console, but without any further messages.
When double-clicking to show the object, an unnamed window opens with a node.script object hiding another object. The window can't be edited. I attached a screen shot.
(edit): I have to mention, the message appears with opening Max 9, and I am able to open the Max References.
max 9.0.3
