Using an instrument to trigger a specific bang based on note played
Hey all,
I'm quite new to Max but am eager to try out a project I've had on my mind for a little while now. Essentially, I want to turn my saxophone into a type of 'remote control' that sonically triggers events within the program based on which note you play through the instrument. I.e., if you play an C4, an x bang will trigger; if you play a C#4, a y bang will trigger, and so on. (Note, x would be the sole trigger for C4, y would be the sole trigger for C#4, and so on)
What the bangs will trigger is something I will work out later, but for now, I'm curious if anyone has any tips on how to go about having the program recognise a particular tone and then accurately sending a bang to its corresponding trigger.
Apologies if that was a super confusing way of explaining things! Any pointers would be great!
