Using older externals

hello

is still possible to use older externals like peter elsea's L-objects or the soundhack ones? even though max recognizes the objects, only the help files work . I've tried putting them in max search path, as well as the externals folder to no avail

thanks

you need to precise in which max version and OS you want to use
what exactly.
Are externals 32 bit only, or lack m1 support that you need ?

yes. its max 8.5 on windows 10 x64. Im not sure about the externals tbh. the l-objects are from an old backup since its not possible to get them from the page atm. and the soundhack page doesnt specify wheter it is 64 or 32.

thanks, those are the same ones I have. I've also been trying with eric lyon's fftease and potpurri, but no dice.
I've also noticed that the externals in the install folder are .mxe64. whereas the ones Im trying are .mxe, so maybe these are 32 bits...

you can get fftease and putpourri here:

I don't have download link for lobjects, but downloaded them
some years ago.

hey source audio thanks for your help!

managed to solve the externals issue thanks to this:

and fftease with this (david landon post):

seems there's no potpurri for windows. also turns out the L-objects are included with the RTC lib package, but they would still need the fix.
