Visualizing Rhythms in a Circle! (TED)
Hello,
a pretty interesting video (duration about 5min) about organizing rhythms in "circles", that can be shifted.
In fact it would not be a big difference, if I shifted a 1-bar loop pattern line around, but I think the visualization would have some effect. Is there a plugin out there, where I can shift around the grid patterns of each instrument (e.g. of a drumkit) seperatly? And maybe without being limited to a 16th grid but just being able to flip it around to 360° fluently?
I think taking simple little loops and shifting them around to create more complex patterns could give some pretty decent results.
As I am not a developer at all, I can't do it on my own, but am I wrong, if I think an interface like that isn't too hard to do?
Where's jhno when ya need him? ;)

I did some work on this in my summer holiday. Have a look here: https://www.instagram.com/p/3Q6C12whA3/?taken-by=leafcutterjohn

This is great... Did you build this with standard Max objects? How much additional coding was involved (js, etc)? Bravo!
Reminds me of the Rhythm Necklace app: http://rhythmnecklace.com/ I heard it was prototyped (built?) using Max.
Yes, all standard max objects rendering into the good old LCD object!
