Vst Transport Sync

This is probably an easy question to answer but I can't find the answer.

I'm using a couple of vst that only work when a daw is in play mode (for example Jamstix), the global transport in max 7 right now is just feeding the tempo but not the actual "on/off" status to the vst object, I've tried using the sync~ object but still no results.

Is there a specific message to send to the vst object to emulate the daw message of "playing/recording" ??

Thank you.

Make sure that audio output of the vst object is connected and Max audio status switched on.

Thank you, that's already covered. I'm talking about VSTs that start working when the daw is running in play/rec mode.

Turning on the global transport should make it work like that, but doesn't (only the bpm is synched).

I don't mind using other clock source, but I don't know what message to feed the vst~ (I've tried feeding it the midi beat clock from sync~ but still nothing).

Max was newer a DAW, and never was able to get Plugs that run in sync with sequencer to run,
and also Plugs that stored Parameters in "Song" mode newer did so in Max.

Well, it works perfectly for me (on Mac) for example with EZdrummer loaded as vst.
Starting global transport in Max starts the EZdrummer sequencer.

I'm using 2 plugs that have internal sequencer jamstix and kaleidoscope, neither starts when I use the global transport (or any of the methods I mentioned).

I'm running max 7.2.3x64 on Windows 10 .

Out of curiosity I've checked the Jamstix3 demo - and got perfect sync with Max transport (on Mac).
