VST wrapper
Hello,
I'm a beginner, and thought it would be fun to make an m4l wrapper of CLA-2a. Immediately got stuck, LOL. In Live I found the names of the two parameters I'd like to control, i.e. "Gain" and "Peak Reduction", and I'm trying to route a live.dial through a Message object. With dial output going into the first input of Message, nothing seems to happen; with dial going into second input of Message the entire message ("Gain, 3" for example) is replaced by the new dial output rather than the dial just addending the number after "Gain," ( → "Gain, 9").
Thanks for any insights!
cheers & blessings,
G
do you have any specific source which told you to try "Gain, 5" ?
;)
Sort of….
I read that one way to find the names of parameters is to load the plug-in in Live, expand it to reveal mappable parameters and then use those names (Gain was one of two I was interested in). I tried having m4l print the parameter names but it would only spit out one 🤷♂️
5 was just a number, heheh.
thanks!
Read vst~ help file.
from the beginning to the end.
otherwise you will have much more reasons to laugh.
then remove comma and use
Gain $1
connect dial to that message.
you would need float 0. - 1. in most cases

@Source Audio -thank you! And yes, you're right I need to re-read the manual...I tried, but am still getting lost in the jargon. I'll keep trying (o: Thanks again
