Why does this ezdac trigger sound?
I'm looking at the documentation for the scale object. I'm used to seeing an ezdac as something that receives input and only outputs to your speakers. How is it at all connected to the cycle object, or really anything here? And to the extent that it does cause a cycle wave, why do I not hear it?
Also, could someone explain why the 5th argument in scale (the exponential base value) affects the waveform the way it does? It stretches out the troughs and narrows the peaks as you increase the value, eliminates the waveform entirely at zero, and creates a very strange sharp pattern as you push it negative. It's an exponent? What's being exponentiated? Sorry for my ignorance.
ezdac here is just used to turn on the audio part of Max. It's not connected, because all that's there is a two hertz sine wave. Even connected it's not sure you'll be able to hear it.

the input. Typical values are 0. to 4. Also see [pow].
