Windows WASAPI native implementation? Max Devs?

Three years ago I switched over to Windows hardware and it is an ongoing learning curve for sure, but I am gradually learning the ropes of connecting multiple audio applications with inconsistent implementations. One of the issues out there is working around the many backends for audio, and the lack of universal support for the surprisingly quite good modern wasapi framework. For serious use, mme and directsound are just too old and high in latency, really ought to be deprecated, and relying on portaudio has its problems too. Jackrouter is good but currently not being maintained, and relying on an ASIO bridge excludes many of the applications people are running at once these days (zoom et al). With online teaching, it is tricky to get good, responsive multi-client audio like macOS coreaudio, even though the much maligned WIndows does in fact have a potentially decent API in place. So, wondering if Max is planning development of a native ad_wasapi audio driver to augment the portaudio wasapi driver?
