Yamaha FS1r editor
Hi folks,
Is anyone already build a max Yamaha FS1r editor ? I saw old topics about that but without any relevant answer.
If someone is interested to exchange on me with that, it would be lovely.
Hi,
Building an editor is a lot of work. The best example of a Yamaha editor that I know of is the VL-70m editor:

Lots of hours of work have enabled Rudy to get there!
Now, it looks like this editor still works on modern machines, so you might be better off using it...

Jean-Francois is correct. I am 4/5 of the way through a Blofeld editor and it is on the backburner as it has taken FAR longer than i'd anticipated.
Before you start, find a comprehensive list of the sysex commands that control the paramaters, and build yourself a little prototype that controls a single setting. All it has to do is send out the sysex you want, and be able to have the specifics of its output (and maybe input, if you want midi control?) changed with the least amount of work possible, so you can copy it many times and have each copy tied to a different parameter.
The last thing you want to do is get 100 objects/ settings covered, then realize that you'll need to re-do all of them, or that you should have started off with a better basic concept before you began.
If you have specific questions i may have answers/ patch parts to help.
Thanks to both you ! Indeed, I previously did this work for my Roland MKS-50 and it was, indeed, a lot of work, for few parameters. Thanks for the editor links, but all my point is to control and automated the parameters of the FS1r via Max ( no way to do it with this soft no ? ) ; and that's so far my biggest concern, to be able to play time ramped datas ( so kind of really quick for example to 10 to 127 in 50 ms, using function objets ) outputting sysex datas. It works theorically but for example with the MK-50 it was too much information, the synth reacted too slowly. I try to see if it s work with a more recent midi gear ( sysex reaction could vary from gear to gear ) ; and also to check with CC and NRPN. Any tricks are welcome. Daddy, thanks for the patch proposition. I wonder if there is subtilities ( i just using speed limit so far ) or tricks that would help me to give the best sysex transfer possible.
Hello hello,
I have started a Max for Live FS1R editor last spring and I hope it will be ready for the next spring (it' is a huge work!)
