I'm just a bit curious what happens when I fill a variable with an array (e.g. myArray [0 0 0 0]), and then print this to the Max window via post(). The result is: 0,0,0,0

Whereas if I go back out v8 > print it comes out as expected e.g. 0 0 0 0.

I must be missing something. I can't find how to access the arguments of a Patcher object in javascript. I would expect the Patcher object to have a method such as getArgs() or a property args, but I can't find anything like it. There seems to be no real answer to this on the forum either.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Hey folks, I am getting node js error that I was hoping someone could help me with.

But as soon as I import another js file, node does not like the require directive. I get the error listed below,

the reading-from-disc here is done with a hidden buffer~ object (in the patcher) that

reads chunks (600samples) of a (maybe large) soundfile in a loop into a js-array.

i failed to do this in background so that the mouseaction is not blocked while redrawing the waveform.

if someone could have a brief look into my function "drawwf" (section sf-read) that would be outstanding great ;)

since the latest update to Max I am experiencing some errors in complex blocks of code where I am not at all pointed to its origin, let alone what can be done about it.

object_findregistered: looking for single sym registered object obj:dictionary:u841003805 in namespace:array, but found in dictionary

I can extract from this that somewhere an 

 with specific name is expected but instead a 

 under that name is received. Now, this error never came before and I am literally clueless as to where the problem hails from. The code thereafter does not do what it is supposed to so my program is no longer working.

this may well be the wrong place to ask about this but does anyone know why certain MGraphics functionality has simply been 'changed' ?

After a long spell of settup a lot of v8ui code to support neat SVG-rendering many of them now appear scaled, compressed, deformed — all because

Is this going to be fixed again or am I to expect such changes with any odd update now? Very hard to predict what's going to happen next I am now having to revisit all of my code to scale all vector graphics correctly — in all of my projects.  Unless this will be fixed again. Will it ?

 I tried to open a database within javascript in a m4l device. I always get the error message 

v8: none: ReferenceError: SQLite is not defined, line 28".

Seeking up and down the internet, I can't find any mentions SQLite is not supported in m4l devices. Also I don't find any references, I need to use a require statement upfront.

Did someone make it work or has an indication it is not supported or broken?

IDK if this information is already documented somewhere, or if the same behavior can be implemented more simply and easily.  This is just how I figured out I could implement certain behavior I wanted for a project.  Since I struggled so mightily acquiring the details, I thought I would share my solution.  I'd also like to know about any better (safer, more flexible maybe) way(s) anyone else has for implementing this kind of behavior. Please reply and share.

DL and save this txt file to a local folder, change the extension from .txt to .js.

patchers.txt

Save (your "new from clipboard" copy of) the below compressed patch to the same folder as the patchers.js file (saveAs "patcherA.maxpat" maybe)

Save (your "new from clipboard" copy of) the below compressed patch to the same folder as the "patcherA" Patch and the patchers.js files (saveAs "patcherB.maxpat" maybe)

Close both "new" Patchers, then reopen one then the other locally from Max File menu. (so they can find the patchers.js file when they load)

PatcherA: (PatcherB is functionally identical to A except B loadbangs"initB")

The two top level patchers each contain a Max js object and each js object is an instance of the code found in the patchers.js file and the two "siloed" instances can still call a method "in" the other instance (after both patches are open).

The "reportOut" messages you pass into "patcherA's" js object appear at "patcherB's" js outlet, and vice versa.

This demo verbosely posts to the max console, but it's for demonstration purposes. Comment out the informational console posts for actual use of the code.
