If I have an M4L device with a psto in it, all copies of that device will share the data if the psto is named. If you want them to be unique, however, there's a bit of a problem: Obviously, you can't name it "---myStorage" as the number will not be predictable, and there's no way of assigning a unique argument to a live device.

It's kind of klugey, but I thought I could maybe use the track ID to generate a consistent name on device load, so psto on track 1 would be something like "myStorage_1", etc. However, as the arcana of storage inside Live is a bit of a mystery to me, I don't know if that would work, or if the psto name needs to be hard-coded.

Obviously, I could just try it, but I'm being lazy and thought someone out there might just have the answer....

I am using fixed colors in my device, and yet when I change the Live theme, it changes the fixed colors. Light theme is forces light grey elements to black. 

I would expect dynamic colors to change, but not fixed colors.

Also, when I shared my device with a friend (both using Live 11), the off-white elements turned to black when he is using a dark theme, thus making it unreadable.

Me and my friend have a big liveset with a combined track count of around 800 ableton tracks. All the songs are organized in group tracks, each song is a different group. Because we have around 30 songs with a lot plugins i wanne make a device that turns on/off  these plugins per song.

The device that chooses wich song to play is already made, but i now need a max for live device that i can drop on the grouptrack of the song and searches for all the tracks that are in this grouptrack.  If i now wich tracks are in this group it will be easy to turn all the plugins of because all the plugins per track are in an intrument rack, so it can be turn of be finding the path "live_set tracks (X) devices 0 parameters 0"

The only problem i encountered is that i can seem to find a way to find the path of all the tracks that are in the selelected group track. I could only see the group track ID of the track, i want this reverse. Is this even possible or should i make a  whole scanning device for this. 

I also could just manualy map all the on/off  switches of the instruments rack but this doesn't seem a clean solution for such a big project.

I have this pretty straightforward sequencer that advances with each incoming midi note. So far so good - but I'd like to skip certain steps, without breaking the note on / off relationship. When I want to skip step 5 for example, the note pairs should be going to 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7.  

I also still want to be able to change the length of the loop itself.

I've made this kind of work with using zl.filter, zl.len, zl.nth and a counter, but off course this didn't keep my note offs in the correct destination.

Maybe route is not the right tool for this? Is there some kind of "round-robin" distributor where I can skip certain steps? A switch? Or can coll be used somehow?

I get values from the note pads of Push 2 just fine for pad pressed (initial velocity) and pad released (velocity of 0), via the 

 named controls of Push 2 as ControlSurface via the LOM.

I use the grab_control and get_control functions of the ControlSurface for this.

Using the setup button on Push 2 Hardware and setting Pressure to Poly, I expected to receive also the the "polyphonic key pressure" values of each note pad - but I do not, still only values for "pad pressed" and "pad release" (which means only note-on and note-off).

Do I miss something or is it not possible to get polyphonic key pressure from Push 2 via the Live Object Model?

Has anybody already access to the Live 12 beta and tried out, if the behavior has changed?

As Push 3 has fully MPE enabled note pads, it would make more than sense that - at least with Live 12 - all these MPE data (pressure, glide aka per note pitch bend, slide) would also be accessible to M4L devices via the Live Object Model.

I really hope that Cycling 74 & Ableton will make this possible ... then it will be possible to create custom Push Layouts for MPE instruments (native Ableton instruments or VST & AU) and hence new approaches to the play an instrument, which would be awesome and I am waiting for so long to make it possible.

I'm building a sort of arpeggiator. I want to sort incoming Midi from the lowest note to the highest note when playing a quantized chord into my device. 90% of the time the midi from Ableton actually is already sorted that way, so the first note that arrives is the lowest and I can happily use a Poly object. 

But with some chord changes this does not work - usually if I only change one note in my chord from one to the next. 

Is there a way to do this without too much latency? I've tried a few methods before but they all create some sort of latency. I hope I'm not asking for something impossible.
