I have a Max for Live device that uses an abstraction. The Max device is frozen.

I adjusted the abstraction to add some improvements.

When I open and unfreeze the Max device, it still uses the old abstraction, which now lives in the Max for Live Devices folder. The new version of the abstraction is located inside the discarded subfolder. I would expect the opposite. Why discard another/newer version of a patcher that was not even part of the device?

Replacing the old patcher file with the new one breaks existing objects. Creating new ones works, of course. Even if replacing files would work, it would kind of defeat the purpose of abstractions as reusable objects. I shouldn't deal with file management.

What is the best way to have devices always use the abstractions from my Library folder rather than unfrozen ones?

the patch I am working display a text through jit.gl.text, that I rotate with the mouse thanks to a jit.gl.handle. I could rotate the text without issues, until I able the output matrix attribute of the jit.world and I added the option to make the window fullscreen. But when I disable output matrix or the window is not fullscreen, it doesn't work again. I save the patch and open it again, and it works. There are some inconsistency in how this object is working, and I can´t find out the reason why.

Hello! I need help naming the context for jit.gl objects. I am working in a patch that have a source movie playing from a jit.gl.movie and going through some jit.fx and finally reaching a jit.gl.videoplane that fix that video to a specific layer. Then there is, on one side, a jit.gl.text that I move with mouse clicks with a jit.gl.handle, and on the other an fpic , both of them in different layers. I read in the max documentation that when working with jit.world the context should be name, so I name the jit.world as vworld and type that name into every jit.gl object there is in the patch, and now nothing is being displayed.

I am not sure I understand how to name the context correctly. For example, if I read a video with a jit.gl.movie and that video get resize with jit.gl.texture, goes through some effects and then ends in a jit.gl.videoplane to be position in a specific layer, should I only name the last jit.gl.videoplane with the context name? or every jit.gl along the way? I tried both and it doesn´t work either way.

I am pretty new to max4live and i was just wondering if there is anyway to change the layout of the keyboard inside max4live, cause i've come across a max4live that works fine with US standard keyboard layout, however i have a keyboard with the Spanish layout which i use everyday, i know i could just change the window keyboard language but it is not something i find it useful, cause i am used to use this layout, and changing it bacl and forth it is not something confortable. I've also made a research in all the files that take a part in this device, and none of the code scripts contain atributes related with this keyboard layout that i would like to be able to change. Any help would be appreciated, also notice i don't have much idea of developing in max4live.

I am trying to organize the objects of a max for live device that are already mapped in ableton move when the move is in control live mode. I would like certain objects in the device in certain banks in the move. In max, I can order the objects parameters, but they simply appear in sequence, so if I want only 3 knobs in the bank 1, I can´t jump to the next bank making the next object #9, because it will appear after the 3rd nob in the move. I see there´s a 

 object to deal with something like that, but that´s for the push. Is there something like that for the move?

With M4L it's possible to trigger "session record".

->it will record clips on all armed tracks if the slot is empty

  and if a slot is not empty, the alredy playing clip that it containes will be overdubbed.

I am looking for a way to do the same but not for all armed tracks but just the ones I choose.

It's easy with the "fire" function but it will record in empty clips and

with already playing clips the function will just play the clips and not overdub them

with M4L how to overdub in a playing clip without using the 'session record" function as I want to exclude some armed tracks from the process...

I am sending a pic through fpic to a jit.gl.videoplane and trying to control the pic position in the jit.world. There is no problem when I change the x and y axis, but z axis have no effect at all. It seems very straightforward, but it doesn´t do anything. Maybe someone can help me to understand what is going on?

I made a live.text button and insert on it a svg picture, and it works well, so I decided to copy-paste this button to trigger other objects, but it stop working. It have a lighter color than the original one, but every aspect in the inspector seems to be the same as the original. What am I missing?

I created and rendered an mp4 movie file using kdenlive where the "slideshow" ends at 02:27:28:21 and an end title displays until 02:27:54:01 giving the movie 266,222 frames at 30 fps and 8874 seconds of run time.  The length of the "slideshow" was determined by the length of a set of mp3 audio files that are supposed to eventually be the soundtrack of the final movie.

When jit.movie reads the file, the correct fps 30, framecount 266222, and time_secs 8873.6416 property values are reported, but when jit.movie is running in a M4L device I also created (

 question) doing audio reactive video effects to the "raw" slideshow, the movie consistently finishes (and loops or not) before the mp3 audio files finish (and loop or not), video ending nearly a minute early taking the end title time into account.

This same "fast clock" run time behavior of jit.movie occurs whether Live is running under External MTC timecode sync or its own clock. And strangely, the "time ruler" display setting at the bottom of Live's Arrangement view might make a difference in how "fast" the movie plays back?  After "discovering" that time ruler and switching it to 30 fps matching the movie to verify Live thinks the unwarped mp3 audio files run (approximately) 02:27:28:xx, I think I started seeing the "better" (less fast) end time for jit.movie playing the mp4 file reported here.

I'm using OBS to record the "FX pass" video received from the M4L device patch over Spout, and the recording process might also be impacting the playback?  But I would expect any "unexpected impact" like that to slow down performance, not improve it.

I don't need the audio and video to stay in sync and loop for days at a time, one pass within say 10 frames would be fine.  What can I do?  Anything?
