amxd~ help has an example of controlling cutoff using "cut $1" messages -- here it's obvious because the parameter is called "cut" in the interface.

I tried half a dozen alternatives but I couldn't find the magic word to convince ChamberVerb to change its dry/wet parameter programmatically.

Is this not documented anywhere? What's the magic word?

Is it possible to define a key and enumerate a value based on unique keys using [dict.pack] ?

I have sysex data coming in from an Erae interface which has a unique id for each gesture and I need to store these in a dictionary based on this id, and then assign a midi channel to each new key-value entry.

I need to put this data into a nested dictionary using the id as the key for each sub-dictionary, and then assign a midi channel value that is enumerated as each new id is received. The dictionary example below is closed to what is should look like, but I can't count unique ids to assign each dictionary its own midi channel.

Does anyone know if something like this is even possible using dictionaries?

I'm going through the Kadenze course and I'm stuck on some of the coursework for session 4 which is about crossfading (linear interpolation between two scales) and I just can't get the patch to work. 

When I use the slider to move between A and B the range seems to effective for a few pixels on the left side and then it starts spitting out all kinds of pitches for most of the travel to the right. I'm sure there's probably something really simple that isn't checked or a patch that's in the wrong place but I can't figure it out. Can someone please help!? It would be awesome for someone to explain this to me as I really want to learn how to use Max properly.

I'm quite new to Max but am eager to try out a project I've had on my mind for a little while now. Essentially, I want to turn my saxophone into a type of 'remote control' that sonically triggers events within the program based on which note you play through the instrument. I.e., if you play an C4, an

Can somebody tell me how I can route one texture to one of two outputs using a switch or gate object of some kind? I tried to use gate, gswitch2, and jit.op with pass and !pass operators, but I'm getting errors every time because apparently they can't be used with textures. I want to draw a point of intersection using the measure of their unit measure. This form will help a person to see a level of different time measure and hieght of sound. This short show of table will be repeated for a dozen of samples.
