I want to capture the value that a dial will take via automation when the live loop jumps back.

when using MAX on my macbook or 1440p display I find the font of the documentation, menus, completions, etc... uncomfortable small. I have to always sit directly in front of the screen to be able to read stuff nicely. 

I would like to make all interfaces bigger!

I see that you can scale the patcher window but I don't se an option to scale the MAX interface. Is there a way to do this other than scaling the resolution for my whole system?

Im very new with Max, and i desperately need help with a patch.

Ive gotten this patch to drag and drop, loop, drag to corners and synchronize three videos simultaneously, but it goes out of sync the whole time. I need to either automate the toggle to turn off and on after a certain amount of time, so all three videos start at the same time an then restarts after i.e. seven minutes. Or i need to alter the code so it synchronizes in another way.

I have been experimenting with recordings of bubbles in Max but realized due to recording quality that recreating bubbles might be a better option. I have already done some research and found out that apreggiators might be of help. Hello, Im using Arduino to get values from sensors into max and I need help with using these values in the right way. I have a MPU6050 and a 20step rotary encoder with pushbutton. I want to use the x and y values to control fx and filter and I use the rotary encoder to recreate a vinyl like effect. 

Getting the right values into max works, and the rotary encoder already performs the way I want it to. Its just the gyro with the effects. Can someone take a look at my max patch? I just started 2 weeks ago so I think you dont have to be a pro pro to be able to help me :) In the max patch I put comments with descriptions of what the elements do and should do! I am currently working on an undergrad project that utilizes Max for much of the processing. It is a homemade version of the Moog Pianobar. There are 88 sensors (CNY70) connected to a bar sitting on top of the keys,  those sensors being read by multiplexors and an Arduino, thus allowing the reading of of each key's action. 

On of my features is the ability to calibrate each key individually using the trough and peak objects. These would toggled using a gate to set the highest and lowest levels for each key individually. 

My problem right now is figuring out how to efficiently run 88 iterations of this calibration/processing chain. I have tried using the poly~ object (which I assume isn't super efficient), and even then I couldn't get it to work. Whatever processing I use, ideally it needs to be able to calibrate all keys individually with one button and for it recognize what voice it is receiving along with it's sensor data. This would then be turned into MIDI data after some scaling and formatting. 

I just started learning Max this year, so I am not as knowledgeable as I'd like to be. I can share my calibration patcher so far for any pointers.

Hello maxers, I've solved in the past but I don't remember. I would like to stay in other programs, but want the Max running in second window. For example if I map the keyboard with key object and I make clic on a screen of jit.window, it doesn't work. Also, if I'm writing in a TExtedit... it doesn't work. Let's imagine I would like to count how many spaces are in a writting text with Key object in Max, however if I'm on Texedit, it don't report anything...

I'm doing a live show in march and just started creating some test patches to try to find a way to perform my music in a way that suits my style of performance. I'm still pretty new to Max, as I've been learning it on my own, and only for the past six months. 

Now I've encountered a problem with ramping with [line]. I've attached one of the test patches below. 

What I'm trying to do is get the green [toggle] to start ramping the volume of [live.gain~] from -70 to unity, after loading and starting playback of [sfplay~] from a [loadbang].

The problem arises the first time I toggle to bang a message through [select] and [trigger]. The volume of [live.gain~] jumps straight up to unity, without ramping. All other times after the initial bang to the "0" message works, ramping both ways as intended.

I've tried to bang the ramp time to [line] before banging, as well as changed the order of the [trigger] bang output order but nothing works.

And yes I know I should do some cleanups and more efficient patching, I just want to get closure on this question ;).

I am currently designing a soundscape for an exhibition. Everything is controlled by the live data a the tidal cycle. According to the data I tried to use if statements to go from one phase into the next one. Unfortunately the way I tried it so far didn't work. My first try was to define frames so in case the wave is higher or the same as 0.5 meter and lower than 1m then trigger an event. Unfortunately with each step in the data I receive a trigger instead of only a trigger at each threshold point. Therefore I tried to use simple if statements such as if the value is 1. then trigger. But in that case I only can do it one way but the cycle goes back again and then I am running in issues. Another idea I had was to use two if statements and compare the current data with the previous one, I think this could be a great alternative but I couldn't really figure out how to get the previous value. Tried to look into coll and zl objects, but couldn't really get my head around. Does someone of you maybe have a simple idea, or suggestion where to look? That would be fantastic. THX
