I’m currently working on controlling mini DC vibration motors (low voltage) with Arduino, using CMD SimpleMessageSystem to communicate from Max/MSP. This setup was working before, but suddenly the motors stopped responding.

I’m an artist using Arduino mainly for interactive works, so while I’ve tested the basics, I may be missing something in the software/firmware side.

Has anyone experienced issues with SimpleMessageSystem + Max patches (Arduino2Max/CMD module) where the Max terminal only shows the port number but no responses? Any guidance on whether that’s normal, or what I should check next, would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Max community! This is the first time I'm having such issues in Max. 

I use this patch to control the LEDs of a Launch Control XL MK2 but Max crashes when I'm changing the color of all 16 pads. Launch Control also doesn't always receive all the data, hence the LEDs aren't always controlled properly. 

I suppose the issue perhaps is that I'm sending too much information instantaneously? Any ideas how to fix it or at least figure out exactly what's causing this? Thanks in advance.

Just updated to Sequoia 15.6.1 yesterday and now Max won't open. Have tried uninstalling, deleting the files in Application Support, and installing again with no luck. It's strange as it opens on a separate user on my Mac but not my main one.  Have also deleted ~/Library/Preferences/com.cycling74.Max.plist, and still not working.

So I'm not actually skilled in Max, but I'm just asking this question because I want to know whether or not it's within the realm of possibility, such that I could teach myself Max enough to build it:

I have an APC40 MkII and an Ableton Push 3, and in an ideal world their Session boxes would be linked, such that I could use the arrow buttons on either device to move them back and forth

. This would allow me to use the two controllers as one "super-controller" - the APC40 recording and launching clips and controller faders and sends, while the Push acts as my main keyboard and device controller. That's all I really want.

, but ever since Live 12 came out it has stopped working. I talked to Darren Cowley personally about this over email (and I know he's a member of this forum), and he simply insisted to me that it was "impossible" to make it work again. My guess is that this is because Push 3 is running a different kind of script that is no longer visible in Live preferences, so it's impossible to get it to tell you where the session box is (much less have it be controlled externally). Or something.

is there absolutely no other way of making this work now

, whether in Max or Python or something else? I don't need a super-complicated solution; ideally I'd just have a little Max audio effect that can sit on my master channel (alongside my numerous other utility devices), which is preset to have the APC and Push mirror each other. That's it.

Again, I know I'm a total noob and I'm not asking anyone to build it for me, but it would be nice to know if it's something I could work towards. I've even tried getting ChatGPT to write it for me, but nothing has worked so far.

I try to control an ethernet relay board with some http commands.

It does work fine in Max with the help of [maxurl]  but 

 as a live device (Live12, Max8.6 under macOS13, 14).

In Live [maxurl] behaves erratically and crashes sooner or later (sometimes when quitting Live).

I am using the Crosspatch and I am trying to use exclusivity on the outputs. When I activate this feature and click from Crosspatch 0 to 1, then from 1 to 1, the first link is correctly deleted. However, I control the Crosspatch with messages and when I send the message "0 1 1." then "1 1 1." the first link is not deleted.

Can you help me with this? I have the same problem with the Dividers.

I can seem to solve this issue I am having with a gen~ patch.

Everything seems to be doing what it should be, except for a weird 'doubled' output that occurs every time the driving/Master phasor~ resets (on beat one). Connecting a live.scope~ doesn't make this issue visually apparent until you connect a what~ and print the output. 

For example, a subdivision of 4 gives me 5 impulses, with beat one sending 2 impulses.

I feel like "but not limited to" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

I've found two new circumstances where it ads a vector just this week. And I always have to do at least some experimentation on my own for every use case to make sure it behaves predictably.

If there was an alternative to s/r~ that is locked to one vector of latency a lot of the complexities that come with larger systems would be cut.

I have issues using Shift-Enter to remove points from a function box. On a clean boot of the Mac (mini with M4) and Max 9, it works. Perhaps until I run the patch (?).

Then, it doesn't. At all. Rebooting Max does not fix this. Rebooting everything does.

Clicking (even with shift) creates new points. I can't get rid of any. If I try to select/delete, the entire function box disappears. 

Is this a known issue with Max key binding? It is frustrating.

Update: So, this only works when the patcher is locked?
