Broken [midiout] on export with multiple M4L MIDI effects
I'm running the current 64-bit Live (9.7.5) & Max (7.3.4) on OS X (10.13.1).
This wasn't a problem with Max 6.x.x.
To reproduce - simply create a device that connects a [midiin] to [midiout] and render some audio. The corresponding track in the render is silenced, as is real-time playback on return.
Weirdly I hear some piano on return, but only a single note at 0.0.0 - maybe the [midiout] is now wired to the internal MIDI FM port (or whatever)?
I couldn't find any similar complaints in the forum, apologies if this is a known issue.
If more details are required let me know.
Cheers, Alex.
Ah okay, more precisely - the problem occurs when two M4L MIDI effects are connected in the same chain (though they can be separated by a native MIDI effect).
Reproduction:
1. Create a new M4L MIDI Effect comprising [midiin]-[midiout].
2. Add two instances of the effect on a MIDI track, followed by an instrument of some kind, together with a clip & notes.
3. Export Audio/Video.
4. Press play...
Observations:
1. MIDI data is no longer received by the instrument (which is therefore mute), and the resulting export is mute for the affected tracks.
2. The MIDI meter in between effects seems to be saturated with traffic (possibly due to MIDI feedback of some kind).
3. Turning the 2nd MIDI device off fixes the problem, but turning it back on results in failure again (although seems to fix the MIDI meter).
4. Reloading the song fixes the problem for playback, but still unable to export audio.
