I am trying to play an audio file and when I toggle ezdac~ to hear the audio it just switches off momentarily and I get the following error message in the console: "admme: unable to open wave input device" and "ad_mme: stopping due to error". I am confused because it was working fine before and now it just stopped working. I have also tried using other audio drivers but it just doesn't work. Does any one have any recommendations?

Windows an Max Audio don't allways play well together.

In first place not with built in realtek and similar devices.

I allways use ASIO4All for my internal Windows hadware needs

Sadly in the case that you are dependent on worked in soundcards, you are consistently helpless before OS refreshes and the gave sound drivers. This isn't anything to do with Audition. It is all down to Microsoft and the 

 it supplies in it's Windows refreshes. Except if you have a nice outside USB sound interface with it's own ASIO drivers, which sidestep the OS totally, then, at that point you might wind up with issues when things change.
