Cant save or work on new patchers in Max projects

I updated my 9 to the most recent version and I'm having this weird problem Ive never encountered before where I cant save or update any new patchers made at the project level.

• I click add new file in a project

• name and create a new patch, save it, close it.

• drag it into the main patch where its going to live and maybe be instanced.

• open it as a sub patch in the main one and edit

• try to save it and it pops up a "save as" window. Max MSP throws an error "jpatcher_saveto: error 32 writing Config.maxpat" and wont actually save.

If i open it directly from the project browser it does the same thing. I restarted max, restarted my computer, its impossible to edit the patch because it wont save. If i save it as a different name then pull it into the project, same issue. this is a huge problem and has stopped my team of individuals from working on this project.
