CAREER OPPORTUNITY - Cycling '74 is looking for a Staff Accountant

We are looking to hire an Accounts Payable Accountant to support our Finance and Accounting Team. This is a Full-time, US-based, fully remote employment position.
The Staff Accountant will be part of the Accounting & Finance team, focused on accounts payable and working in active & constant collaboration to maintain financial accuracy and transparency while supporting the company’s creative goals. We strive for a nontraditional cooperative-driven structure where strategic thinking, co-leadership, collaborative problem solving, and decision making are integral to the role. We accurately track financial data for accounting and risk mitigation purposes and communicate and steward that data in ways that enable the company to achieve more creative and prosperous outcomes. Daily work is self-guided, but we provide a supportive community-focused work environment. Duties & Responsibilities:
General duties related to Accounts Payable (paying vendors, processing expense reports, processing payroll)
Verify, allocate, and post outgoing transactions for all bank and credit card accounts
Reconcile entries for all accounts
Maintain digital filing system
Process outgoing royalties
Prepare reports from accounting software for internal usage
Manage vendor, software, and credit card accounts
Cross-train on various team functions
Process equipment depreciation
Make correcting entries (training and support provided)
Facilitate payment of corporate and local taxes
File quarterly sales tax
Conduct a monthly sales tax account audit
Review books for errors during monthly close
Participate in annual planning and forecasting
It is expected that you:
Are based in the U.S. and able to work from home
Participate in Accounting & Finance meetings and general company meetings that may require travel (when safe). This might include quarterly team meetings and semi-annual company meetings.
Coordinate transparently with the team
Work collaboratively to assess, manage and complete team projects
Are experienced with finance and accounting, but not necessarily from a traditional accounting background
Have strict adherence to keeping current records
Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Are familiar with accrual accounting
Are able to handle multiple projects and adapt to changes quickly
Are confident working with:
Accounting software
Spreadsheets (Google Sheets, Excel)
Google Drive & Dropbox
Ideally you:
Have at least 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience or college-level accounting classes
Have excellent knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping processes
Are comfortable working with international contacts
Are willing to learn:
Xero
Expensify
Asana
