Counter carry flag type doesn't save?

I'm relatively new to max, and am trying to create a sort of midi-recorder thing.

In it I have a few counters with their carry-flag-output mode set to Bang (instead of the default "numeric"), but every time I open the project, it is reverted to "Numeric" which results in it not working correctly. I've got a couple of them chained so that one of them is counting how many times another rolls over, and when the mode is set to "numeric" it appears that the downstream counter counts each rollover multiple times. Am I doing something wrong, is this a bug, or is it completely anomalous?

Regardless, is there a more canonical way to do this than having one counter's carry-flag hooked up to another's input? What I'm aiming for is having one counting midi ticks, it rolls over once per beat, the next counts beats and rolls over once pear measure, and the next counts measures.

Did you try something like this [counter 1 4 @carryflag 1]? [transport] might simplify what your trying to do.
