Darwin Grosse Appreciation Post
Hi everyone,
I listened today to what is to be Darwin Grosse's last episode of his Art + Music + Technology podcast. Darwin has over the years been very active here on the forums and elsewhere, and has made my experience learning about Max and music technology as a whole all the better.
His podcast can be found at https://artmusictech.libsyn.com (and on different podcasting platforms), and his 20 Objects curriculum is a joy http://darwingrosse.com/20Objects/index.html for those wishing to see Max in a new light.
Once again, I'd just like to take this opportunity to give my thanks and express my appreciation for someone who has done so much for so many of us here.
Thanks.
This is indeed shocking news. Thanks Hujairi, and huge thanks to Darwing Grosse for all of his contributions to the software and to the vibrancy of the community.
my deepest and best wishes for good fortune and courage to Darwin in overcoming any and all challenges he may face, as he has done in his contributions for a huge community of artists worldwide, it's time now to dedicate his grand heart and great strength to the most important part: his life and health ❤️
Darwin, in case you read this, I was listener from day one and I fully understand your decision. I wish you strength and perseverance. My thoughts are with you.
Thank you Darwin for a wonderful podcast.
Thanks so much, Darwin, for the great podcast, excellent tutorials, and many other contributions to the Max community!
Darwin's helpful and highly intelligent posts have got me out of a rut on multiple occasions. Much respect for his talent and generosity.
+1
Hear hear, wishing Darwin the best!
I feel compelled to reach out and express my sorrow for the loss of Darwin. Other than being an amazing programmer, educator, and synthesist, he was a truly integrated and vital member of the electronic music community. Between his audio podcast (a+m+t), video tutorials/vlogs, and all of the amazing work he did for C74, he's given SO much to the field. How very sincere and genuine he was.
Darwin, you will be so very missed!! My deepest condolences to his friends and colleagues at Cycling.
I cannot find adequate words…
thank you Darwin ❤️ You inspired me

To say that he was an inspiration is truly too understated.
He defined the direction of a lot of people in this field, and infused the scene with a great deal of reflection.
I will truly miss his presence.
Such a sad news to hear. Darwin, thank you. For what you did, created and shared. For your curiosity and for your contribution. You are already missed.
Darwin was completely off my radar before this thread.....
This thread led me to his podcasts which I have been enjoying * immensely *
Will be moving onto his tutorials next.
I think he still has much to teach us
Thanks Darwin
I'm so sad to hear that he has died.
Thank you for everything, Darwin! Made me want to delve into programming myself.
RIP.
