Error -1 Loading Driver

Hello,

I just purchased an additional audio interface because my old one (ESI U22 XT) did not have 2 XLR inputs.

The new interface is the M-Audio M-Track Duo which is working fine with everything else on my computer, but when I try to use it with MAX I get the errors:

MSP/ASIO: error loading ASIO driver for kɵ

MSP ASIO: Error -1 loading driver M-Audio M-Track Solo and Duo ASIO.

I have tried working around this by using ASIO4All but when I set the M-Audio interface as my device and then turn on audio in Max the program crashes.

I have tried a clean reinstall of both Max and the drivers for the M-Audio device, restarting my PC after each install but am getting the same error message.

I am on Windows 10 64 bit

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Is there any documentation of compatible audio interfaces? I assumed that the M-Track Duo being an ASIO device would mean that it would work fine with Max

Is that interface/driver limited to 1 app at the time on windows ?

Can you disable it for system sounds and other apps, and use only as ASIO

with max ?

I'm willing to try that but I'm not sure how to check or how to disable it. Do you know how to do that on Windows?

go to system settings and set sound to whatever else you have.

quit ALL other apllications that might use ASIO DRIVER.

If other DAWs you use have option to auto close driver when quit,

make sure to activate that.

Also quit ASIO4ALL.

I remember people complaining about m-audio interfaces in general.

You could also try flexasio as last option if nothing else works.

Setting my system sounds to another source and turning off everything else does not work, I get the same error.

When I use FlexASIO I get this error:

Any thoughts on this?
If this isn't resolveable I may need to return this interface and get a new one. Are there recommended interfaces for use with Max?

Source Audio's icon

FlexAsio needs to be set up first, you could try this :

Can you use max with any kind of audio driver ?

I mean built in, that ESI etc.

Maybe Max preferences got corrupt .

I am not really windows user, but have used quite few interfaces on my windows test laptop

like tascam, motu, roland, there are plenty of small 2x XLR devices out there.

Never had any problems

Yes I used the GUI extension to set it up in the first place and that was the error I got but I will try again, and thanks for the recommendations!
