For a project I need to get Full HD video input from a DSLR or Mirrorless camera. I have done some tests with my old Canon 7D + Canon Webcam Utility and jit.grab and while it works it is a bit unreliable. Also the Canon Webcam Utility is locked at 720p so not ideal for my use case. 

Then I experimented with a Blackmagic Ultrastudio 3G because I read in the jit.grab documentation that Max 8 supports Blackmagic drivers. It was such a massive pain to get it to work right and reliable, which got me a bit confused. Maybe I am missing something...

What is everybody else using to get 1080p video into jitter ? I have some budget for this project so I have been eyeing a Lumix GH5 as a replacement for my Canon. What HDMI capture card would you recommend alongside it ? I am also open to other suggestions on how to go about this. In my case USB webcams are not an option because I need to use some specific lenses.
