first month of my subscription starts today,.. I am really happy with what I did free for the last 30 days,..
I will probably post my Max8 stuff here from the youtube uploads I do-- probably not all of the videos and such --- there are a few people who are liking what I am doing. I will take 4 of my videos and some audio mp3s and such just mix them out to a new video file and upload,.. so yeah I have 8,462 uploaded videos as a possible source for my max8 work.. I am uploading the new works now .. :) and yeah I am loving the interface with max 8 the control of the video mixing and the possibilities that can be --- I am looking to triggering video with midi connections to my synth - supernova II novation (I have and have played since 2000) it is a wonderful program -- I am totally impressed --- :) quartz composer is just nowhere near as good or the other things out there. GLmixer and and some others ... I am glad that this is just $10 a month --- I have stopped paying bandcamp their $10 and would much rather pay for Max 8.
Since I am a really way very noob please let me know some of the neat things to expect?? --- Thanks
it is an awesome program --- it is perfect for me thanks ---
,..2 months ago I had no Idea what max 8 was --- I had been in electronic music studio class at Rutgers University in 1984 so 2 months ago after years of making electronic music I decided to look through the MIT open course work for electronic music required readings. In that something came up about max 8, in a book excerpted - and I followed it to the program. I played with max 8 last month and now I can't stop. OMG it is like all these Max 8 tutorials and informations was hidden from me on the internet -- it was there all along I just didn't know --- I used quartz composer but it was very limited - I had started using quartz composer in 2012 and then lost my macbook pro to a coffee spill :( got a new macbook finally 2 years ago but quartz composer stopped getting support and mostly everyone stopped using it idk why? but compared to max 8, mmm well there is no comparison just so much better and documented. massive tutorial archive omg.. so node programming I get from quartz composer - but this is so much better here in max 8 -- to do the things I have started doing in quartz composer would take mad programming skills --- I was looking to map the midi values on my supernova II by novation I have been playing since 2000 --- just like map them to events in a video ---not easy in quartz composer not easy at all it looks so far that Max Kicks Butt in this area yeah midi mapping the vst3 interface program for my supernova II comes up in the options just wow --
my recent project is a continuation of the bird theme I have been doing -- I have embossed the birds and added color changes after that ... this evolved into just old video mixing with mp3's added and all mixed --- problem I kept having was my iPad movies were mono --- so one channel was down but now with stereo videos dropped in there I am seeing the other left channel still at a low level out.. easy fix. bad connections -
I have been able to upload most of my .maxpat files to archive.org here- https://archive.org/download/void-form-5c there is listed on archive the sets of video uploads that were made- one of many bird videos created this week.
2nd $9.99 payment --- well worth it. new update the next day. I started auditing a Max/MSP course at https://www.kadenze.com/ it seems I had been missing lots and lots of details that are getting talked about.. my goals are simple. I want to make myself a new musical instrument with max/msp --- using the wacom --- my problem is that I feel the connection with the wacom is not able to use my macbook pro 2018 because it does not have the M1 chip -- I know my iPad 2 mini does not connect via bluetooth because of that very reason with my mac ... so my control of Logic Pro X is not happening from the iPad I figure, well, I know that is true with max/msp too for me to connect my iPad to max. I just want the connection to make and design a new musical instrument,.. I think the wacom will connect via a usb and that will work since it is a direct wire and not bluetooth with the bluetooth problem my macbook has.
