Hi everybody, i just discovered the existence of the live.api objects and im trying to create a m4l device that observes whenever I press a pad in my drum rack.

I understand (or at least i think so) how to set the correct path of the device so that live.observer can see it but i cant seem to find the right property to get the value that i need.

Is there any way to do this? Thanks!

Pressing a pad = playing a MIDI note, so you just need to listen to incoming MIDI to know which pad is pressed. You'll need to make a MIDI or Instrument M4L device for this, or rely on [live.routing] if you want to make an audio effect device. (or make a MIDI M4L device to listen to incoming MIDI and send it over to your audio effect device using [send]/[receive] which works across devices).
