I have a custom external which is not any search paths, but it keeps getting loaded and I dont know how it is found by Max, it's driving crazy.

Is there a way to know exactly where the external is being read from ? (like Linux command 'which') 

Would Max cache the externals somewhere , explaining why that external keeps getting found ? 

I'm having this issue with both Max 7 and 8.
