Inaudible Feedback + pops + clicks when making a filter + amplitude Envelope
Hey all, this is my first post. Pretty new to max/msp. Ran into the first problem I can't solve.
I'm making a really basic qwerty controlled oscillator with a filter envelope and an amplitude envelope. I'm getting odd pops and clicks, as well as feedback after the note has finished. Some of these qualities go away or become more apparent depending on the position of my function breakpoints.
Here is the patch, hopefully the problem is obvious:
Thanks in advance!
Hi AJ,
First of all welcome to the forum!
Although I am to sure if I reproduced exactly the problem you are having, what problem I got was due to the [snapshot~ 1] going to [filtergraph].
For some reason, (Sorry but I have no time now to search why), the [snapshot~ 1] lags after a while...
I replaced it with the [filtercoef] witch can get signal inputs (so no need for [snapshot~ 1]) and it seems to work OK.
Some clicks you are getting (probably) because when you re-trigger an envelop, especially the level one (the left one), it stops at the value it is and immediately goes to the first one you set (first breakpoint), witch in this case is 0. So this sudden change of value produces a click (sometimes it doesn't, but that's luck...).
Hope this solves your problem.
