There is a difference between how many decimal points a message box truncates compared to the tosymbol object (6 decimal points vs 4). I can't use sprintf for my scenario, but sending the message through atoi then itoa achieves what I would expect tosymbol to do.

Is this a bug with tosymbol? It seems unusual that tosymbol would truncate floats more than a message box would. Example code included:

i find it already stupid that messageboxes truncates numbers.
