Cycling ’74 is looking to hire an HR professional to support the well-being and growth of the company. This role has substantial growth opportunity, with potential to eventually lead a small People Team. This is a US-based, remote employment position. 

Cycling ’74 is a fully distributed workplace and each employee is required to work from home. Daily work is self-guided but we provide a supportive community-focused work environment. We are actively working on creating non-hierarchical structures in place of traditional management.

Collect, audit, and enter payroll data into PEO system

Work with team-leads in recruiting, onboarding and offboarding employees

Enter new hires and terminations into PEO system

Work with Compensation Team and third-party consultants to develop, implement and improve compensation policy and to evaluate changes in the labor market 

Help team-leads to write job descriptions and work with consultants to help make salary recommendations

Bring a professional perspective to the policy-making process

Work with third-party PEO and internal stakeholders to compare, choose and develop health benefit options

Maintain overall benefit offerings strategy

Create Parental Leave plans for employees in various states

If needed, research, make recommendations, and aid in the process of moving to a new service provider

Act as liaison between PEO and employees, consultants & Cycling ’74 teams

Support the enrollment process and election changes for employees

Oversee and process semi-monthly 401(k) Deferrals

Work with Accounting & Finance to reconcile quarterly and annual 401(k) deferrals

Facilitate company training provided by PEO (harassment, etc.)

Make FLSA recommendations (exempt/nonexempt classifications)

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance

Participate in team and all-hands company meetings 

Meetings may be either remote or in-person, once it is safe

Ideal candidates will contribute to some legal projects with support including permanent establishment, contracts, business insurance, IP, and trademarks

Obtained an Associate’s Degree (or higher) in Human Resources or a related field

Have at least two years of professional HR experience or experience in a related field

Strict adherence to keeping current records

Capacity to work on a variety of projects and adapt to changes quickly

Interest in developing communication and conflict-resolution skills

Handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion, diligence and good judgment
