A while ago I lost my progress in RNBO, having the max msp patch unchanged but my rnbo patch gone.

In cyclying 74 support and forums I was told that it was an earlierrnbo version problem.

Unfortunetly it occured once again, even after I had it all updated with the latest version of RNBO running.

Also tried reinstalling max but it did not change the situation

Furthermore rnbo does not seem to go well with github, making it a problem for data backup. I recovered a change that I had manually saved in another hard drive but still lost a week of progress.

Thank you in advance

You trust anything else than daily (or more frequent) backup of your important work ?

i am not in the position to comment this kind of issues in rnbo or gen~, but i can understand how people feel about it.

unfortunately @source audio is 100% right, that your data security is your responsibility. no backup, no sympathy! we all learned it the hard way one day, and people probably need that experience to start doing it.

I guess you're right, I'll get in the habit of saving it daily, although I still think it should be looked through by developers, It's always a good idea to state a bug in a software to forums if there is one in my opinion.

Here is a little trickeroo for saving and editing rnbo patchers-

  1. create rnbo patch

  1. put stuff in it

3. save to a folder (probable best place is documents/max 8/

  1. open anywhere - rnbo @patchername record.rnbopat

  1. edit, save, reuse

6. no problem

I've been trying to figure out how to save the individually rnbo patch for the longest! Couldn't find any documentation about it.

Thank you so much!
