Mac M1 native support. When?
I know this topic has come up before, but I figured starting a new one would encourage a response from a previous thread as there's been no response from recent inquiries. There are definitely performance issue running Max for Live on an M1 mac. Any chance we could get an update as to when full native support would be a reality? I understand there may be a huge workload ahead or underway, so please take this question with that understanding in mind. Like others I'd just like to know what the time table looks like. Thank you
Got it. Thank you.
Also, for completion's sake:
Updated the bundled Max build to version 8.2.0 Beta 665eec0.
Perfect. Thank you.
Add hock network to Mira not connecting in new M1 silicone . Add hock does connect in the old intel chip .I'm running the same os Monterey Jack cheese and max 8.2 on both . It looks like some work ahead still to work into new architecture .
Hi all. Are there any further updates on this? I just made the switch to M1 but when trying to launch max for live devices it just says to switch to ableton in rosetta. The links to the press releases about it being in beta seem to be broken. thanks
If your m4l devices use any bundled non native M1 externals,
they are not going to work unless you start Live in rosetta..
Live itself has been long updated to support M1 in version 11 - universal.
Bundled max version is 8.2.2 and is both x86_64 and arm M1 native.
You can anytime trash bundled Max in Live/Contents/App-Resources/Max
and use external Max app or replace it in place if you don't use Max outside of Live.
P.S. and don't forget any other non M1 installed packages,
which might be used by your devices.
