Either as soon as almost any patch opens or runs for a little while, Max crashes. I don't even have anything really to report other than Max is incredibly unstable on my machine since around 7.3. Even old basic patches will crash it. It's totally intermittent too.

Max has always been really stable on my machine, but the last year has been really unstable for some reason. Not sure what was changed, or if it's software on my machine that's conflicting.

Thanks Rob. I reached out to support and they suggested the link below. Deleting the app and application support folder seems to have made all the difference and everything is working great again. Max has always been very stable for me, so it was strange. It's all back now. :)

I went through those steps and Max 7.3.5 is still crashing after being open for only a short time. I'm attaching the support info as a text file. Has anyone had to reinstall an earlier version to stop this?

Sorry, Solved! Well, there you have it. Reinstalled Max, etc, only to find that the TWO students' projects I was grading were causing it. "Strangely" (raised eyebrow) they had made exactly the same patching mistake, so when Max crashed shortly after opening two different patchers, I thought it was Max.
