It seems there is an undocumented second argument to mc.receive~ object – number of channels... (just found by trial and error).

edit: also mc.send~ has this second arg telling how many channels are transmitted.

It was documented in Max 8.0.0. but is seems to have disappeared in Max 8.0.1 - if I remember right on the mc.send~ reference page (used to when clicking the link on the MC Object wrapper page for mc.send~/receive~. 

Here on Max 8.0.1. those pages have disappeared (broken link) and also the info in the auto complete window is missing.
